Peter Bollen

After finishing his M.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from Eindhoven University of Technology (1984), he worked as  Planning Manager at Mars b.v. in the Netherlands. In 1986 he joined the school of Business and Economics at Maastricht University.

In 2004 he obtained a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from Groningen University (Faculty of Business & Economics) : ‘On the applicability of requirements determination methods”.

Peter Bollen is now Senior Lecturer at the department of Organization and Strategy at the school of business and economics of  Maastricht University. In this role responsible for courses on the field of (IT) project management, operations management, operational strategy, business games and (modeling of) business rules.   

Peter Bollen is (co-) Author of over 50 refereed articles on fact-based and conceptual modeling.

He is a Senior Associate editor Journal of Information Science and Technology and a member of IFIP working group 8.1 (design and evaluation of information systems). He was member of the following board and program committees: board of the SBVR foundation (2008- now), Member of FBM WG (2010-now), program committee for ORM 2005 , 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 workshops. Member of program committee for Rule-ML workshops in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Member of program committee for EOMAS workshop in 2010 and 2011.Member of program committee for EMMSAD 2011. He was a Dutch representative for the ISO standardization committee on ‘modeling facilities for conceptual schemas’ in Southampton, United Kingdom, July 1994 and the International chair of ISONEWORLD, Las Vegas, USA,  2004, 2005, 2006.
